Arbur was born in Yorkton, Saskatchewan, and was raised in Canora on a wheat and cattle farm. While his family was ready to move to B.C. in 1972, a short opportunity to perform volunteer service saw them move to New York in 1972.

What was intended to be a short tenure grew into four years of a great traveling family experience. 1975 saw Arbur’s family move to Vernon where he completed his education; their home was originally in the middle of a bean field and orchard area now known as East Hill.

After leaving his career in Banking, Arbur moved to Vancouver for ten years managing Credit Offices in the Auto Industry.

Since 1993, Arbur has been back home in Vernon working in commercial and personal credit as a businessman and as a Licensed Realtor.

Question Arbur: What impresses you about Vernon?

Answer: Within a ten-minute drive of my home are three lakes; one is one hundred miles long and the other was voted “10 Most Beautiful Lakes on Planet Earth” by National Geographic Magazine. The third lake is a bird sanctuary. These lakes allow our family to enjoy countless water activates such as boating, fishing, and scuba diving. Arbur stopped counting his dives after 500.

Question: What else impresses you? A 20-minute drive from most Vernon areas takes you to Silver Star Resort where my family enjoys skiing, skating, and tubing at Tube Town.

Within a one-hour radius of Vernon are over 500 lakes. This allows Arbur and his family to enjoy deep-lake trolling and fly fishing.

Within a ten-minute drive of his home, Arbur can launch a pair of ATV’s or snow machines and literally trail for days in several directions. I consider these PRIVILIGES to be “real-gems” that at times we may take for granted. I feel I know the Vernon area like the back of my hand.

Arbur enjoys traveling and fulfilling his Christian speaking engagements around North America with his Christian Faith. 2007 will find him in Idaho, Saskatchewan, Pitt-Johnstown University in Pennsylvania, Florida, and Washington.

Arbur performs marriage ceremonies and performs and arranges funeral services for all denominations.
